Here's a video of Pee Wee and the gang playing two songs on which I played steel on the original recordings: "The Tennessee Waltz" and "You Belong To Me." (This video was recorded after Bob Koefer, Shorty Boyd and I had all left the band. I don't know who the steel player or the second fiddle player were at that time.)

In this novelty tune, Roy plays the entire first instrumental chorus and makes the "bong" sound on his steel guitar.

Roy recorded with scores of artists on King Records, including Hawkshaw Hawkins. On Hawk's record of Slowpoke, he wanted Roy to play the same solo he had played on Pee Wee King's hit RCA record of Slowpoke. Roy played a very similar solo, but changed it slightly.

Accompaning Roy were L. T. Zinn on Guitar, Bonnie Slick on Ukulele, and Ray Slick on bass.
The next day, September 1, 2007, Roy was inducted into the International Steel Guitar Hall of Fame.
